This proposal was eventually dropped as getting approval for a Hotel within campus was very tricky – say next to impossible. But there was a serious need for one such a place as the new Director Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee had a lot of visiting faculty who would have preferred a hotel over the old hostel on the campus.
