NH 48

NH 48

This is a Pilot Project under Green Highways being designed for a 23 km stretch that is partly in Delhi and partly in Gurugram, Haryana. The NH 48 (previously known as NH 8) was built around 20 years ago. This is part of Golden Quadrilateral Project that was the dream project of then PM, Late Shri A. B. Vajpayee. Our Design approach is to plan for ROW but without altering any existing road network. However, under the via-ducts, we have planned car parking (mainly taxis) with EV Stations and toilet facilities for drivers / others, in addition to peripheral landscaping.  There will be considerate use of solar power including solar lights. We have planned compact STPs of around 2 KLD with each toilet set. By using water-less urinals and drip irrigation, we save a lot of water. Additionally, there is Rain Water Harvesting. New paved walkways will replace walking on broken drain covers. Two-way Cycle Tracks are planned for many kilometers. Local sturdy plants requiring minimum water are being used. NHAI Chairman Dr. S.S. Sandhu is the force behind this unique project under Green Highways.
